Job Summary:
The Chief of Staff to the CFO plays a pivotal operational and strategic role, acting as a key partner and trusted advisor to the CFO in leading the finance organization and driving critical initiatives across the company. This highly visible and facilitative role requires a balance of focus, flexibility, and the ability to manage a wide range of strategic and operational responsibilities. The Chief of Staff will ensure seamless coordination within the finance function and across departments, supporting the CFO’s agenda and leading cross-functional initiatives to ensure effective execution of company goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Execution
Collaborate with the CFO to develop, communicate, and execute the company’s financial strategy, objectives, and performance metrics.
Lead the coordination and planning of Board and committee meetings, ensuring alignment of agendas and preparation and review of materials to meet deadlines and deliver key insights to stakeholders.
Drive the preparation and execution of internal Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), aligning stakeholders and ensuring impactful content that reflects financial and operational performance.
Track progress on financial goals, ensuring milestones are met and providing updates to the CFO on critical initiatives.
Operational Leadership
Serve as a key liaison between the CFO and finance leadership team, ensuring clear communication and strategic alignment across the finance organization.
Manage the day-to-day operations of the CFO’s office, including meeting, participation, coordination, agenda development, and follow-up on action items to ensure continuity in decision-making and execution.
Lead special projects and initiatives assigned by the CFO, ensuring timely execution and achievement of objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with other executives (e.g., President, COO, BU CEOs, Legal, HR) to drive strategic, company-wide initiatives, ensuring alignment with the CFO’s goals.
Facilitate collaboration between finance and other business units to optimize operational processes and drive business performance.
Act as a liaison for the CFO, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders to address inquiries, requests, and ensure alignment with corporate priorities.
Financial Analysis & Decision Support
Assist the CFO in analyzing financial data, reviewing financial models, and evaluating strategic business opportunities.
Provide insights and recommendations based on financial analysis to enhance the CFO’s decision-making processes and support key initiatives.
Communications & Stakeholder Management
Draft and review executive communications, presentations, and reports for the CFO, ensuring alignment with corporate messaging and strategic priorities.
Coordinate and prepare for high-level executive meetings, including setting agendas, preparing materials, and ensuring follow-through on decisions made.
Represent the CFO in meetings when necessary, articulating the CFO’s perspective and maintaining alignment with organizational goals.
Team Leadership & Development
Support the development and mentorship of the finance leadership team, promoting skill enhancement and career growth opportunities.
Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture within the CFO’s office and across the finance team.
Guide and mentor junior team members as needed to build capabilities within the organization.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in a strategic or operational leadership role, preferably in finance or consulting with high functioning knowledge of finance and accounting across operations, process and procedure.
Experience working in or with publicly traded companies is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Strong business and financial acumen and understanding of financial statements, budgeting, and forecasting.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with financial software and ERP systems.
Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Leadership & Communication:
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with senior executives and stakeholders.
Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and identify innovative solutions.

Other:
The role is intended to be a 2-year commitment to best onboard, learn and leverage to the finance organization.
Progression for career advancement within finance or business operations after serving in the CoS capacity.
Examples of Key Project Areas:
Coordinating with GC on Board and Committee Agendas, calendars, deadlines, including facilitation of review meetings and adherence to deadlines. Maintain a rolling 12-month calendar with an eye toward ensuring all upcoming deadlines are maintained in coordination with committed deadlines.
CFO Strategic prioritization setting/roadmaps and ensuring a deadline driven approach with CFO leadership team.
Ensuring coordination amongst CFO leadership team for agenda setting of each leadership team meeting ensuring maintaining a strategic rather than tactical focus.

Maintaining coordination on strategic priorities: RPO, Internal Controls, Global Workforce Strategy, Coordination with Strategic Implementation Partners, Procure to Pay initiatives, Treasury Process Management and Improvements, Preparation materials for key meetings
Compensation:
EverCommerce considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, candidate’s work location, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, external market data, as well as market and business considerations when making compensation decisions. This role’s base compensation range is $150,000 - $170,000.

Where:
The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. This role will be based in our Denver Office.
