Position Summary

We are seeking a high-impact, strategic Vice President of Tax to join our executive finance team at Evercommerce, Inc. a publicly traded enterprise focused on sustained growth through operational excellence and strategic M&A. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role is responsible for leading the company’s global tax function including tax compliance, tax provision, audit support, and structuring of complex corporate transactions.

This is a mission-critical leadership role that interfaces with executive leadership, external advisors, and finance business partners to proactively manage the company’s tax strategy and risk. The VP of Tax will lead a team of two and oversee a best-in-class tax function that delivers timely, accurate, and strategic tax support across a dynamic operating environment.

Key Responsibilities

Tax Compliance & Reporting

- Act as the primary liaison with tax advisors and auditors, including RSM US and other external providers.

- Lead and manage all U.S. federal, state, and international income and indirect tax filings and related compliance efforts.

- Oversee accurate and timely quarterly and annual tax provisions (ASC 740) in accordance with U.S. GAAP.

- Lead global transfer pricing strategy and documentation, including Master File, Local Files, and benchmarking studies.

- Ensure strong internal controls over tax reporting processes; partner with Internal Audit on SOX compliance.

Audit & Risk Management

- Manage all tax aspects of external audits (financial statement and tax authority).

- Identify and mitigate tax risks proactively through process and policy enhancements.

Strategic Planning & Advisory

- Provide tax due diligence and structuring support for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.

- Collaborate with Corporate Development and Legal to model tax implications and optimize transaction outcomes.

- Serve as a strategic partner to the CFO and senior finance leadership in long-term planning and business optimization.

- Provide tax input on intercompany arrangements, new entity setups, and cross-border operations.

- Drive automation and operational efficiency across the tax lifecycle.

- Coach and develop members of the tax team

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA or Master’s in Taxation preferred.

- 10-15 years of progressive tax experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role at a public company or National accounting firm with exposure to public companies.

- Deep technical knowledge in U.S. GAAP tax provision (ASC 740), federal, and State & Local tax law; exposure to international tax law and transfer pricing; M&A experience a plus.

- Demonstrated experience in managing a lean team with high output and engagement.

- Strong interpersonal and executive communication skills with proven ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

Compensation:
Base compensation range: $220,000-$250,000. Additionally, short-term incentive target and equity are included in the overall compensation package. This compensation range is specific to the United States labor market and may be adjusted based on actual experience. This range is not all inclusive as total compensation for this role also includes a variable component in addition to the base salary that will increase total earnings.
