About the Role:

We are seeking a dynamic General Manager who will be responsible for the overall management and coordination of our winery and estate, ensuring the seamless integration of operations and exceptional guest experiences. While driving operational efficiencies, the General Manager will be focused on developing unique products and wine experiences to scale our wine club while adding value to the brand. Developing internal personnel and external partnerships to support the business model while building our brand story. This role requires a strong blend of leadership, operational expertise, and a passion for delivering excellence in the wine and hospitality industry.

Responsibilities:

Winery Operations:

  • Support Winemaking team on winery operations, including grape cultivation, harvest, wine production, bottling, and cellar management.
  • Collaborate with the winemaking team to ensure the production of high-quality wines that reflect the winery's brand and vision.
  • Collaborate with the winemaking team to ensure the very best presentation of our wines.
  • Manage the winery budget, including forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to winery operations.

Estate Management:

  • Supervise the maintenance and upkeep of the estate grounds, including vineyards, gardens, landscaping, and facilities.
  • Manage a team of estate staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the enhancement and preservation of the estate, ensuring its long-term sustainability and beauty.
  • Coordinate and oversee estate events, private tastings, tours, and other guest experiences to ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

Hospitality and Guest Experience:

  • Foster a culture of exceptional hospitality, ensuring that every guest receives a memorable and personalized experience.
  • Oversee the operations of the winery's tasting room, hospitality center, and other guest-facing areas.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to develop and execute innovative strategies to enhance the winery's reputation and drive visitor traffic.
  • Maintain strong relationships with trade professionals, tour operators, and local businesses to promote the winery and drive partnerships.

Wine Club Development and Management:

  • Develop, grow, and retain the winery's 20/20 Collective membership base.
  • Design and implement strategies to attract new 20/20 Collective members, including marketing campaigns, events, and promotions.
  • Manage all aspects of the 20/20 Collective, including member communications, shipments, and exclusive member events.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and sales teams to create compelling wine club offerings and benefits that enhance member loyalty and satisfaction.
  • Monitor and analyze wine club performance metrics, such as retention rates, acquisition costs, and member satisfaction, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget for both the winery and estate, ensuring financial objectives are met.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of operations.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimization, making recommendations for process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in viticulture, enology, hospitality, business management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in winery and estate management.
  • Strong knowledge of winemaking processes, vineyard management, and wine production.
  • Proven experience in managing a diverse team, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting teamwork and collaboration.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve excellence.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders, including guests, vendors, and industry professionals.
  • Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to winery operations and hospitality.
  • Passion for wine, sustainability, and delivering exceptional customer experiences.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible hours, as needed, to accommodate winery and estate operations and events.

  • Compensation ranges from $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience
