About the role
As the Director, Risk & Compliance Operations at Rippling, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our business and customers by leading a team responsible for Know Your Customer (KYC) and fraud prevention. You’ll develop and execute strategies that ensure operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional customer experience, all while mitigating risk and supporting Rippling’s growth.
What you will do
- Responsible for building, leading, and scaling a high-performing risk operations team
- Partner with product and engineering to design and implement scalable processes and systems to manage risk efficiently across all relevant products
- Develop, monitor, and own key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) with stakeholders to ensure operational targets are met
- Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to launch, develop, and maintain up-to-date policies and procedures that meet industry standards
- Identify and address performance gaps, using data-driven insights to course-correct team behavior and improve outcomes.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and oversee strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate risks, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
- Partner with relevant customer-facing teams to design optimal processes with a focus on delivering an exceptional customer experience.
What you will need
- 10+ years of experience managing risk operations, focused on fraud, KYC, or Financial Crimes
- Proven track record of building and scaling global ops teams and processes in high-growth environments across multiple time zones and c
- Strong understanding of global regulatory requirements in financial services (e.g., AML, PCI DSS).
- Experience monitoring SLAs and driving performance improvements through coaching and corrective actions.
- SQL experience is preferred but not required
- Experience working with Product and Engineering teams to develop and implement tooling and workflow management solutions
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience implementing automation and technology solutions to improve operational efficiency is a plus.
